The Uptown Art Gallery was established in 1998 through the cooperative efforts of the City of Brooksville and the Hernando County Fine Arts Council.  The Gallery encourages artistic endeavors and provides a prominet location for local and regional artists to display their work.

The Uptown Art Gallery hosts five exhibits a year.  Each exhibit reception is sponsored in part by The Brooksville Junior Service League and Hernando County Fine Arts Council.  Receptions are free and open to the public.

PERMANENT COLLECTIONS:

The Uptown Art Gallery is the permanent home of the Hernando Heritage Quilt.  The quilt is made up of 22 blocks, with each block portraying a part of the county’s history.

A catalog of the works by artist Mary A. Coogler (1879-1957) is archived at the Gallery.

The Uptown Art Gallery also has an extensive private collection of donated works that include the Lewis Watkins’ Historical Prints.
