Our City Parks!

There are three City of Brooksville Parks: Bud McKethan Park, Tom Varn Park, and Russell Street Park. We also have the Quarry Golf Course, three Tennis Courts, the Tom Varn Stadium & the Jerome Brown Community Center for community enjoyment.

 

What We Have To Offer!

These beautiful and convenient parks and new community center offer many fine recreational facilities which are enjoyed by thousands of residents and visitors, including: Racquetball Courts; Pavilions; Horseshoe Courts; Adult Softball Complex; Lakeside Picnic Area; Kiddie Playgrounds; Youth Softball Complex; Jogging Trails; Tom Varn Stadium; Basketball Courts; Tennis Courts; Advanced Timber Challenge Course; 6,600 sq.ft. Gymnasium; Batting Cages....

Tennis Courts

There are three lighted tennis courts adjacent to Bud McKethan Park. Lessons are available for youth and adults. Call John Downey or Louise Downey, instructors at (352) 666-0658 for schedules and fees.


Tom Varn Stadium

The Tom Varn Stadium, dedicated March 4, 1997, is dedicated to Coach Varn’s stern leadership and strong character that has turned athletes into champions and students into lifelong winners.

 

The girl’s new softball facility is one of the finest in the southeastern United States. Built through cooperative efforts of the City of Brooksville, the Hernando County School Board, and the Hernando Youth Leagues (HYL)! There is individual seating for the spectators’ comfort. There are over 500 seats from the old Atlanta Braves’ Fulton County Stadium. Available to the teams and leagues are a state-of-the-art professional style lockers, showers, and jacuzzi. The stadium also boasts a concession stand and press box.

Hosting Multiple ISA Youth League Softball Tournaments!
Tom Varn Park gives players, coaches and families a great opportunity to enjoy tournament softball while visiting historical Brooksville.

Note: No animals are allowed in the City's parks except service animals.

Facilities Rentals
The Jerome Brown Community Center Conference Room, and Community Center Hall in addition to the various outdoor facilities are available for hourly rentals.
